Goswami Tulsidas was born on saptami, 7th day of shukla paksha in 1532 (july-august) in the month Shraavana acc.to hindu calendar .    

There are three places are mentioned as his birthplace but  most scholars identify the place with Sookar Kshetra Soron, District Kasganj in Uttar Pradesh which was a village on the banks of the river Ganga. In 2012 Sukarkhet Soron was declared as the birthplace of Goswami Tulsi Das,officially by the government of Uttar Pradesh.
